nevermore.
in the silence of the night, as the world fades away,
i heard a tapping living in the dark’s sway.
the heavy air surrounded me, thoughts heavy and clear,
a low, haunting voice said:
“you’ll never come here.”
i stood there alone with no answer, no light,
the darkness was speaking somewhere in the night.
“don’t go further,” the cold voice implored —
then the raven spoke softly:
“nevermore.”
“nevermore!” it cried out in the night without end!
“nevermore!” through the silence that time cannot mend!
a word that remains where the lost echoes soar!
like poe in the dusk, the raven says: nevermore!
it rises and swells like a storm on the shore!
the thunder of ages, an infinite roar!
nevermore!
i followed the call through the canyon so deep,
but the answer returned from a silence asleep.
the walls closed around me, the air growing sore —
and the raven still answered:
“nevermore.”
“nevermore!” it cried out in the night without end!
“nevermore!” through the silence that time cannot mend!
a word that remains where the lost echoes soar!
like poe in the dusk, the raven says: nevermore!
it rises and swells like a storm on the shore!
the thunder of ages, an infinite roar!
nevermore!
maybe no morning waits after the night,
maybe the darkness remembers our fright.
but the raven remains at the forgotten door —
and the dark silhouette keeps calling:
nevermore.
and the night goes on…
but time stands still.
the raven watches…
black as coal.
guarding the remnants…
of my soul.
one word echoes…
forevermore.
and still it calls —
nevermore.
